Four aspirants file COCs for mayor; two vice-mayor, twenty-seven for councilor

The COMELEC closed its office at midnight of Monday, December 1, 2009. The deadline for filing of candidacies also put a stop to further speculations on who-is-for-what and who-is-with-whom, the two favorite political topics of Pozorrubians local and abroad before and during the 13 days allotted to the filing of certificates of candidacies (November 20 to December 1).

It will be a Chan, former Mayor Artemio Q. Chan this time, who will face ex-councilor Ernesto T. Go’s renewed challenge for the mayoralty of Pozorrubio, twice-awarded Best Performing Town of Pangasinan CY2008 and CY2009. Benjamin S. Espinoza and Archimedes R. Sales also filed their COCs for the same position.

Only Vice Mayor Reynaldo P. Reyes and SB Kagawad Dennis C. Uy filed for the vice-mayoral position.

The 27 candidates who will contest for 8 seats in the Sangguniang Bayan are:
