It was the turn of the third to the last entry of the Street Dancing Competition in celebration of the 140th Founding Anniversary and Town Fiesta when the alarm went out. Nasusunog ang SPA! Nasusunog ang simbahan! Nasusunog and gym!
It was neither of the three. It was the Gabaldon Building of the Pozorrubio Central School beginning to feed on itself into one great bonfire.

On December 1, 2009 the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Pozorrubio was chosen the Most Outstanding in Pangasinan from among all the 1st, 2nd, 3rd class municipalities. There was none chosen from the component cities; none also from the 4th, 5th, class towns. Thus, the Pozorrubio SB is the one and only nominee in Pangasinan to qualify for the Regional Search sponsored by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). This was the information as gleamed from the official nomination form sent to the region by Domiciano N. Soriano, Jr., Chairman of the Provincial Award Committee. Once again, the town fiesta of Pozorrubio will be held come year 2010. But this time, I am happy to have been asked to become truly a part of this most grand celebration! I am Edna Ricarde-Cariño, a teacher, and the a candidate for Ms Pozorrubio Town Fiesta representing the DepEd family, the Local Government Unit, Liga ng mga Barangay, PWERSA (Pozorrubio Workers and Employees Resource and Services Association), and the Non-Government Organizations (NGOs).
