Welcome to Pozorrubio Online

Before Pangasinan Day, there was a Pozorrubio Day, at the Kapitolyo!

By virtue of  Provincial Ordinance No. 143-2010 titled “An Ordinance Declaring and Citing April 5, 1580 as the official Foundation Day of Pangasinan,” the Monday after the Holy Week 2010 observance shall be the 1st official celebration of Pangasinan Day to usher in the 430th Foundation Day of the Province of Pangasinan.

To ensure  a festive and colorful celebration of the event, Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. had sought the involvement  of all cities and municipalities during the Agew na Pangasinan with activities scheduled from 6 in the morning to midnight. These would include the Parada na Dayew, a parade of floats and contingents of thirty (30) or more participants from each Local Government Unit (LGU), and the inauguration of the rehabilitated Sison Auditorium.

Campaign period begins; opposition fires first salvos

And that is just for a start. 

The local administration party, Lakas-CMD Kampi, quietly observed the first day of the Election 2010 campaign period on Friday March 26 by going on a Visita Iglecia from Ina ng Manaoag to Senior Tesoro of Calasiao. That night, they held their first campaign meeting in the barangay of Villegas.

San Diego Majestic Lions Club conducts medical mission in Pozorrubio

From San Diego, California, these majestic lions dropped down on Pozorrubio on March 24, landing on soft
paws and even softer hearts. Immediately, they were in fighting mode. Fighting ails and pains and germs!

Mayor's priority projects right on schedule

Construction on the five (5) priority infrastructure projects of Mayor Emma Zosima Chan of Pozorrubio are keeping right on schedule, in time for the turnover to the new administration on June 2010. Although not all of these projects are expected to be fully completed by then, there will be five less worries to contend with for whoever takes over after.

Building from the ashes of Gabaldon

Presently ongoing is the construction of the new schoolbuilding to replace the Gabaldon of Pozorrubio Central School razed by the fire during the January 13, 2010 Town Fiesta.

COMELEC demonstrates the how of election automation

On Wednesday February 24, 2010, Election Officers III of Pozorrubio and Urdaneta City,  Nelly Valera and  Miguel Bautista respectively, joined forces to explain the intricacies of the new automated voting system to the DepEd principals, headteachers, teachers and all other interested persons. They showed it was not so intricate after all.

Two mayoras inaugurate new farm-to-market roads

Fifth Distric of Pangasinan Congressman Mark Cojuangco and Mayor Emma Chan are of one mind in their requirement for the release of congressional or municipal funds in the construction of farm-to-market roads, as was former Mayor Art Chan during his three terms: it must be sturdily concrete and it must be of 6-8meter width. The reasons for the pre-req  are obvious to the farseeing: the road must last beyond one lifetime; it must comfortably accommodate two-way traffic.

 

Magic comes to Pozorrubio!

As the song goes, got to believe in magic! Those who find it hard to believe, got to believe, on February 19, 2010. It was a Friday, a day that, if one can see clearly, is when spirits go around swishing their goodness and mischief to the witty and the witless.

Chairs to wheel them to there, to everywhere!

Sam Rafael and Christine have seizure disorders. Jollie, Rhea Ann, H-Mark, and Joan were born with Cerebral Palsy. Khyanne Mark was diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay. To get around, and from their homes to maybe the RHU Stimulation and Therapeutic Activity Center (STAC), they were carried on the hips, or piggy-back style like the babies they once were.
