5th District Lady Solon Speaks In Congress
Congresswoman Kimi S. Cojuangco focused on the issue of reinforcing damaged flood controls from the devastations brought about by previous typhoons in her personal and collective privilege speech in the House of Congress on August 31, 2010. The Solon feels that insufficient awareness and attention have been directed to these crucial structures. If a repeat of last season's devastations is to be avoided, the congresswoman is insistent that the constructions and repairs being done be constructed precisely and according to required specifications - and now. "Band-aid" measures, as she has stated in the past, will only cause history to be repeated as in last year's flooding that crippled the region.
The Shoes of the Hurricane
This video is a tribute to a boxing legend and the current 3-time world champion, Ana Julaton. I have read from some critics and until today some still doubts Ana, and what she is capable of doing for the sport of boxing. Some cannot comprehend her purpose and intentions in female boxing. Some believes that she does not deserve the true recognition and support that she is having from the public. They perceive her smiles, beauty and charisma with media and the public, as a weak point on her boxing career. Some thinks that the time she is putting for the media only softens her ability to compete in the ring with boxers who only focus themselves in fighting. I believe that these critics cannot scope themselves out to a bigger picture. They acquire these ideas with lack of information and facts. They do not engage themselves to an accurate research. So let us zoom ourselves out and see the beauty of this nice big painting. Lets try to wear the shoes of the hurricane.

Abstract. This article traces the history and development of the Ulupan na Pansiansia’y Salitan Pangasinan (UPSP) [Association for the Preservation of the Pangasinan Language], the only literary organization in Pangasinan promoting Pangasinan in literary and audio-visual productions. Established in 2000 by concerned teachers and writers, UPSP to this year celebrates a decade of its existence facing challenges in organization, membership, and funding of projects. This article also presents a viable plan for UPSP in continuing its vision and mission of revitalizing Pangasinan for the coming decade.
Introduction
Not well-known to many Pangasinenses and more so to outsiders, the Ulupan na Pansiansia’y Salitan Pangasinan [Association for the Preservation of the Pangasinan Language] has been, since the year 2000 up to now, doing its share in making Pangasinan alive, not a dying language as many would claim and those of us who love the language would fear.

Couple lifts Pangasinan folk songs from oblivion
retrieved from August 15, 2010 Philippine Daily Inquirer
SAN CARLOS CITY, Philippines –Lazaro Milanes and his wife, Shirley, have made it their mission to save the folk and love songs of their native Pangasinan from oblivion.
The Milanes couple, who are educators, revive and popularize native songs and compose new ditties so they can keep the Pangasinan language alive.
“This is our contribution to preserve our cultural heritage and our language which is fast dying,” said Lazaro, 49, a professor of English at the Pangasinan State University (PSU).
